The only son borne of Aphrodite and Hephaestus, Elpis was an unexpected arrival, and as his birth seemed to signify, became a calming, inspirational influence over all he met as he grew older. Named as the god of hope by grandfather Zeus, and given a place on Olympus, this gesture served to forge a truce of sorts between the whole of Olympus and the wayward children of Pandora, specifically their military body, the Fraternity of Light.

Like the Fraternity, Elpis is a beacon of hope to all mankind. He can bring everything from love and creativity to good fortune and long life to any in his presence, not through his power, but through the inspiration his power brings to others. While he does not hold a seat, he is much like Persephone and Hecate, quietly either standing behind his mother or his father when the gods converge...and occasionally, being the son of the forge-god, tucks himself away beside Hecate to enjoy the warmth of her fire.
